Do you love the thrill of shooting back into the sun? But are you tired of inconsistent results and want to consciously control how your camera captures sunflare? If so, this is the workshop for you. Capturing Sunflare discusses everything you need to know about creating amazing sunflare, from metering to lens selection to focusing. Most importantly, this workshop discusses how to control the look, type, direction and strength of the flare you get, from spiky clean sunflare to hazy golden light, guaranteeing beautiful results every time. Best of all, the workshop will show you how to get an amazing sunburst, one of my favorite types of sunflare.

Capturing Sunflare is a beginner to advanced (if you use off-camera flash) level workshop and assumes that you understand how to manually meter your camera. Everything in the manual can be practiced and shot using natural light with a beginner's understanding of metering, etc. However, note that off-camera flash work is required to achieve the exact look of some images in the manual. Though the manual does not discuss the basics of setting up and using off-camera flash (things thoroughly covered in our {life as art} Lighting Workshop, it does provide information about the metering and settings needed to use off-camera flash in certain sunflare situations. So if you have an understanding of off-camera flash, you will be able to set-up and use it based on the discussion in the manual.

This workshop contains a PDF manual with detailed discussion, images and diagrams. The manual also includes review questions and practice suggestions. There are also 2 videos which visually illustrate topics discussed in the manual. Please note that for digital download purposes, the file size of the video is lower resolution and smaller. If you would like higher resolution video and a hard copy back-up of your purchase, please purchase the Shipped CD option at checkout. The digital files will still be available for immediate download, but we will also mail a DVD to you too with the larger video files.
